I popped over to rocketmans website and upon loading it, a picture of this map appeared. Thing is it wasn't for Quake! It was for Half-Life. Now this is the original version of the map but the Half-Life version looks much better. Whether is plays better, I don't know.

This map does play fairly well. Bots get move round it well enough and I didn't spot any problems. The frags did pile up very quickly so the authors claim of the map having over 1,000,000 frags since 2/7/97 on his server can be believed. The thing is thats its not a particularly original idea. The architecture is very simple and I've seen loads of maps like this. Big open area. Put in some obstacles to make it a little more interesting. It just doesn't inspire me.

The light is really dark, but there are four switches which make the map almost fullbright for a short time. The bots love pressing this switches. It turns in a strobe nightmare with the lights going between dark and light.

If you like racking up loads of frags quickly and enjoy mindless blasting then this is for you.
