The Haunted (2 to 4)
Comments (4) Go to top of page
The map name tells you exactly what you're going to get. It's a haunted house! Once you've got over the shock of that you'll find it ain't half bad. The layout is fairly symmetrical and real easy to pick up. Set mostly indoors, the main indoor section has a staircase that comes up from in front a set of locked door and connected up to the second floor. I spent a fair bit of time in 1-on-1 circling around, climbing upwards then hopping back down onto the ground floor all the time keeping my eagle eye on my prey.

Off that area are two rectangular sections that go off into the rocky outdoor area at the back of the house. The texturing is a bit drab and could have done with more detail and variation. There are a couple of teleporters in there one of which drops you on top of the RA, but it is still easily gettable without going that route.

Duelling is where the map really shines. The simple layout gives rise to some nice shortcuts, which can be used to cut off your opponent and give them a nice rocketing at the same time.

FFA provided to be more point and squirt, and it was pretty cool in the outdoor area to get hit by a stray rocket and land on top of the rocky outcrop and basically get your own back by camping, errr, sniping (that's the term they use in Half Life right?).

Angelfire does not allow direct linking from offsite, non-Angelfire pages, (or sometimes even from Angelfire pages when we work on the code or spill Tab Cola on the servers) to files hosted on Angelfire.

This practice of blocking 'remote linking' reduces our ability to serve out the homepages of our members quickly and efficiently but strangely enough, some earthlings are still retarded enough to sign up with us.
